You Are What You Think!

If you think you’re unable to handle a situation that comes your way, think again! As long as you think negative thoughts, then you will get negative results. Hence, thinking positive thoughts will get you positive results. You may not realize just how strong you really are. We all have the ability to call upon our inner warrior. A warrior fights for what he/she believes; never giving up, NEVER. When an obstacle gets in your way, never feed it with negativity or doubt. Instead, face it head on and take control of the situation. Feed it with positive, uplifting thoughts and you will defeat it every time. I believe that everything happens for a reason and it is up to us as to how we handle it. I will choose grace over despair every time. Maybe not at first, but with the encouragement of my friends and family, my warrior self will rise to the occasion.

The more attention I give to my positive thoughts, the better I feel. When I find myself trapped in my analytical mind, I dismiss my thoughts, clear my mind, and relax. I accept thoughts for what they are. There is no need to turn them into more than what they really are or to take them too seriously.

Nurture your Spirit

As we approach each day, most of us get caught up in our mundane routines and forget that we have divine companions at our side. God has blessed us with our intuition, but has also given us angels, spirit guides/guardians that are here to help and guide us throughout our lives. As we go through each day, we sometimes get overwhelmed with what life brings. It's at these times that we also tend to forget about our divine backup system. Oh, yes, we have backup!

Take the time to nurture your spirit.
Stop, quiet yourself and take a deep breath.
Look around and see only the joy in your life and give thanks.
Ask for guidance or a question that has been on your mind.

Listen to the message your spirit receives at that moment. This is very important, because most of us will ask a question, but not really listen for an answer.

Share your experience with someone and create a Spiritual Virus.

Birds chirping, the warm sun shining on my face and a cool breeze blowing through my hair. The wind chimes are playing a song of renewal in both body and spirit. As I sit on my patio the scenic view of the tree leaves dancing in the wind is one of peace and solitude. If only everyday could be this way.

Well another year is here and January is almost gone. Time goes by so quickly. I have been working on some new designs for Rodeo and I think they are turning out pretty good so far. I love bringing color into my designs. It makes me happy :) Let's make this year one to remember. Live, laugh, love.....isn't that what they say?

Why am I here? What is my mission/purpose? Where did I come from and where am I going? Where do I fit in? Where do I begin? Sound familiar? It’s like we have Spiritual Alzheimer’s.

Sometimes I feel like I go through life with blinders on because I'm too afraid to really look at what's going on around me. I have always thought of myself as being strong in my faith, but faith means to have no fears and to trust. Don’t blinders represent fear? Yes, I believe they do. I don’t want to live my life through ignorance nor fear. I choose to live my life without any obstacles blocking the road to my spiritual freedom, knowledge and growth.

It is time to awaken our spirits again and continue our journey of spiritual awakening and healing. It’s time to quiet ourselves and listen. Listen to God and the intuition he gave us. It’s time to share our thoughts and prayers with our sisters and brothers.

Vacation for the Soul

We just got back from the Smoky Mountains. What a beautiful part of the country. The view from our cabin was breathtaking. It’s just what I needed to rejuvenate my spirit and nurture my creativity. I highly recommend it!

Me, Myself and My

Sometimes I feel like my creative spark is extinguished, but when I remember where it comes from (my spirit), it reignites. For me, it is hard to stay focused on my creative and spiritual self when life is distracting me. Kind of like Spiritual ADD, haha!

Between family, work, social, and other activities pulling for my attention, sometimes I forget to stop and reflect on my day and how truly blessed I am to have these connections with the people in my life. All I need is 5 minutes of quiet time to reconnect to my spiritual self. It’s just a matter of remembering to do it, lol. It’s all a balancing act that takes practice and discipline. My motivation? I never want to be without my daily distractions.

So, my goals this week:

• Remember to take time for myself, so I can be better at everything I do.

• Find the creativity and passion within, so I can design jewelry inspired by art.

• Inspire others to keep their divine spark ignited.

I Need My Color!

I am really enjoying making my Art Cuffs! I think I found my compromise, combining metalsmithing and my passion for color and the arts. I love the way they look like a painting on canvas. So cool!

I use 20 gauge aluminum sheet metal cut to size. I bend and manipulate it to create the desired shape. Then I prep the metal to look like a canvas using Gesso. Using Prismacolor pencils, I color the cuff in several layers to create the desired depth of color. I spray a fixative between each layer to set the color and then spray the final layer with either a matte or glossy sealer.

I had such a wonderful visit with you yesterday, Tracy. It was so fun catching up after all these years. I feel we both received confirmation that we are heading in the right direction both personally and professionally. What more can we ask for, right?

I am always amazed and surprised how God weaves our lives together to make this perfect tapestry of camaraderie. I believe that everyone we meet, we are meant to teach, learn or both! Approach each conversation with this in mind and you will be amazed how differently you view life and our connections with one another.

Patiently Waiting

"All my heart's desires come to me in the perfect time."

I believe that we all have the power within ourselves to create our heart's desire. It is the patience part that people have the most difficulty. We have been programmed in this life to seek instant gratification.

In my experience, if you write down your dreams/desires and turn it over to God (or the universe; however you want to word it) they will come true. The key is to accept that it IS and let it go. It is all about having knowingness, faith and patience.

I am blessed with a wonderful family and personal life. Now I am waiting for the revisions I put out there for my business. Ok, so I have been a bit impatient in that area and keep tweaking my expectations. So, today I will practice what I preach and simply just go to the pool.

Dreamers Dream

Recently I have decided to analyze my dreams, because they seem to have recurring messages. I believe that I am in a transition period both spiritually and creatively. Each dream seems to be indicating some sort of self growth, control and new emerging ideas. I believe if I stay in tuned with myself and not let everyday life cloud my spiritual judgment, I will be successful in all aspects of my life.

Rainy Days? Great time to get creative!

The rain is non-stop this week. I decided I could either succumb to the dreary or use this down time to get my creative juices flowing. I choose to get creative.

My newest project is adding color to my aluminum cuffs. Much like the copper pendants I did for the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH). I am doing abstract designs for now, but I am open to other suggestions. This pic doesn't have the best lighting, but you get the idea. I still need to add another layer of color and then seal it. Just keeping you in the loop with the process.

Well I better get back to the grindstone. More to come…..

I'm really trying, Really!

So far summer has been a blast. Having my son home all day brings the kid out in me even more. All I want to do is play, swim, read, watch movies, etc. I need to brush up on my multi-tasking skills so I can play, Blog AND add items to my Etsy Store. Please be patient with me, because I'm really struggling and seem to be stuck in play mode, LOL.

I've also been planning our vacation to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennesse. I can't wait to relax in our mountain cabin, enjoy the theme park and just plan having fun!

Welcome to my first blog. I am so excited to expand my listener realm. Usually it's just my husband and son. I think they are more excited than I am....it gives them a break. I've never had a problem with expressing myself verbally lol, but to put it down in writing is new to me. For one thing it takes longer and I like instant responses.
