I am really enjoying making my Art Cuffs! I think I found my compromise, combining metalsmithing and my passion for color and the arts. I love the way they look like a painting on canvas. So cool!
I use 20 gauge aluminum sheet metal cut to size. I bend and manipulate it to create the desired shape. Then I prep the metal to look like a canvas using Gesso. Using Prismacolor pencils, I color the cuff in several layers to create the desired depth of color. I spray a fixative between each layer to set the color and then spray the final layer with either a matte or glossy sealer.
Here are three finished cuffs. What do you think?

Love them...the hot pink and orange is something I would have not ever guessed you would do...it looks like your color sense is coming thru now onto the metal. Love it!
